Azamara and Premier Golf have announced a partnership to develop golf-focused cruise itineraries spanning Europe, Asia, the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand. The collaboration integrates Azamara's Destination Immersion® programming with Premier Golf's course expertise and travel curation, creating voyages centered on access to championship layouts and related experiences in each port.

The partnership reflects a broader strategy among expedition and small-ship operators to deepen thematic engagement at destinations, moving beyond standard port calls toward curated programming built around passenger interests. For golf travelers, the arrangement promises coordinated logistics: tee times reserved in advance, transportation from ship to course, and integrated shore excursions designed to complement rounds with regional cultural programming.

Azamara's fleet of smaller vessels—carrying fewer passengers than mainstream cruise ships—allows for more flexible port scheduling and longer stays in single destinations, conditions that suit multi-day golf itineraries. Premier Golf brings operational experience managing golf packages across multiple continents, handling the technical requirements of coordinating courses, handicap verification, and group play logistics.

The itineraries will feature a mix of public and private courses, though specific properties and sailing dates have not yet been announced. The partnership extends beyond rounds themselves: shore excursions will connect golf experiences to local culture, dining, and art in each region, aligning with Azamara's broader positioning around deeper destination engagement rather than activity stacking.

This partnership addresses a segment of cruise travelers with specific interests and purchasing power. Golf packages typically command premium pricing, and cruise lines have increasingly recognized that passengers willing to pay for specialized programming represent a stable revenue stream. The arrangement also positions Azamara as a carrier for travelers whose itineraries are organized around particular passions rather than general leisure.
