At Hudson Yards, where the city's vertical ambitions meet commerce and culture, Edge NYC has opened seven new indoor installations designed to extend the appeal of its observation deck through seasons and weather. The project, unveiled in June, represents the largest transformation of the venue since its 2020 opening and arrives as the highest indoor and outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere seeks to position itself as more than a viewing platform.

The installations, created in collaboration with experiential design studios Moment Factory, SOFTlab, and Journey, span multiple levels from the Level 4 entry through Level 100. PRISM greets visitors with shifting color patterns derived from New York City imagery. PULSE features 450 color-changing orbs that respond to movement. SKYRISE is a cinematic elevator simulating a 100-floor ascent. REFLECTIONS presents 200 spinning mirrored panels tracked by sensors. KALEIDOSCOPE contains four interactive zones within one immersive room, including what the venue describes as NYC's largest kaleidoscope. CRYSTAL CAVE positions visitors beneath a 25-foot canopy of oversized crystals that interact with light differently depending on time of day. INFINITE CITY displays 18 large-scale illuminated columns inspired by Manhattan skyscrapers.

The installations incorporate responsive design that changes throughout the day. CRYSTAL CAVE reveals rainbows scattering across floors in daylight and transforms into a light show after dark. KALEIDOSCOPE's interactive photo spots and patterns shift between morning, afternoon, sunset and night iterations. Each installation layers light, color, reflection and motion to an original music soundscape, a design strategy aimed at generating content worthy of social media while encouraging return visits.

The hospitality component reflects a broader strategy by Hudson Yards to integrate dining and entertainment. Edge now features Skyline Bar & Café, Avenue Sky Lounge by Tao Group Hospitality, a redesigned Peak with Priceless dining space under Chef Ralph Scamardella, and Marquee Skydeck, a seasonal outdoor nightlife series. The latter operates 1,100 feet above the city with world-class DJs and panoramic views.

Andrew Lustgarten, Executive Chairman of Hudson Yards Experiences, framed the project as an expansion of the venue's offerings. "The next era of Edge will take guests beyond the view," he said. "We've created a multi-layered, immersive indoor-outdoor entertainment destination where exceptional hospitality, food and beverage offerings and experience make every visit feel like a once-in-a-lifetime New York City moment."

Edge opens seven days a week at 30 Hudson Yards. Tickets are available at edgenyc.com. Mastercard cardholders can access exclusive Priceless Experiences including priority and early access. The observation deck offers 360-degree views and operates year-round, positioning the venue within walking distance of Times Square, The High Line, and Chelsea as well as Hudson Yards' existing cultural institutions, The Shed and Vessel.
